After one has worked for a number of years in the labor market, one has to retire oneself and rest. Rest is sweet when there is a good retirement. The pastors or ministers of God who have for several years need our prayers and care. The prayer is for God to uphold them and give them further vision. God will also make them relevant. The prayer points below will help the retired or ministers of God if you can pray for them or stand in a gap for them.

  1. Pray that all our retired pastors/ministers shall continue to age gracefully and that the Lord will continue to renew their strength in the name of Jesus. Deuteronomy 34:7
  2. Pray that all our retired pastors/ministers shall continue to see and hear God speak as He wants them to remain relevant and useful in the scheme of His purpose in the name of Jesus. John 5:17-20
  3. O Lord, grant unto all our retired pastors/ministers divine grace to rise up the younger ministers/pastors to be men/women of God with integrity and be faithful ministers in the name of Jesus. 2 Timothy 2:1-2
  4. O Lord, pour Your Spirit afresh upon all our retired ministers/pastors so they may continue to dream dreams that will be helpful to our Convention and the Body of Christ at large in the name of Jesus. Joel 2:28b
  5. Pray that the Lord shall continue to supply all the needs of our retired pastors/ministers and family so that they may not lack anything good throughout their lifetime in the name of Jesus. Psalm 23:1; Philippians 4:19
  6. Ask the Lord to keep all our retired pastors/ministers fresh, healthy, and fruitful, as they remain rooted in the grace of the Lord Jesus. Psalm 92:14
  7. Plead with the Lord on behalf of our retired ministers that they will not lose sight of their final resting place among the cloud of witnesses in the name of Jesus. Genesis 15:15
  8. Pray that our retired pastors/ministers will continue to abide in Christ, the true Vine so that they may enjoy fresh relationships with the Lord in life and ministry even in old age in the name of Jesus. Psalm 71:9
  9. Ask that the hand of the Lord God of glory will remain upon all our retired pastors/ministers so that they may continue to raise godly children for the Lord even in their old age in the name of Jesus. Genesis 21:7
  10. Pray that what our retired pastors/ministers have built in life and ministry will not crumble before their eyes in the name of Jesus. Genesis 37:35
  11. Ask the Lord for His visitation and accomplishment of all the outstanding promises to all our retired pastors/ministers and their families as He did to Abraham and Sarah in their old age in the name of Jesus. Genesis 22:1ff
  12. O Lord, grant all our retired pastors/ministers a long life and cause them to see the fruit of their labor over their family and Your Church in the name of Jesus. Isaiah 53:11
  13. Pray that all our retired pastors/ministers shall not grow weary in faith but remain steadfast till they finally lay down their sword at the feet of the Lord and return to Him in glory in the name of Jesus. 2 Timothy 4:7
  14. O Lord, remember our retired pastors/ministers with favor for all their service in Your vineyard, and do not blot out what they faithfully did for Your Church and her services in the name of Jesus. Nehemiah 13:14
  15. O Lord, bless and preserve all the biological/spiritual children and grandchildren of our retired pastors/ministers, and let them not depart from the godly heritage they have been taught from childhood in the name of Jesus. Jeremiah 35:18-19
  16. Pray that our retired pastors/ministers will not lose their physical and spiritual sight like Eli till they depart to be with the Lord in glory in the name of Jesus. 1 Samuel 3:2
  17. O Lord, keep our retired pastors/ministers and help them not to secretly return to any of the evil practices they have once denounced like King Saul in the name of Jesus. 1 Samuel 28:7-13
  18. O Lord, grant all our retired pastors/ministers the grace to finish strong in the name of Jesus. 1 Chronicles 29:28
  19. O Lord, grant all our retired pastors/ministers and family a safe landing both in life and ministry in the name of Jesus. Ruth 4:15
  20. Ask that the gracious hand of the living God will bear our retired pastors/ministers and lead them in the part of eternal life in the name of Jesus. Isaiah 46:4
  21. Lord Jesus, I thank You because You are the wisdom of God and the source of all wisdom I require to finish well academically in the name of Jesus. (1 Corinthians 1:24).
  22. Heavenly Father, I receive the grace to stay committed to You and to make Your Word my anchor as I desire to become and remain successful in my educational endeavor in the name of Jesus. (Joshua 1:8).
  23. Help me, O Lord, to place my priorities right and learn to strike the necessary balance in seeking Your Word as I pursue my academic career in the name of Jesus. (Psalm 119:99).
  24. I commit myself to a life of obedience to Your Word thereby gaining exceptional understanding as I seek to finish well academically in the name of Jesus. (Psalm 119:10).
  25. As I keep Your commands, I receive favor in the sight of God and in the sight of all my educational tutors, mentors, and examiners in Jesus’ name (Proverbs 3:1-4).
  26. I set aside every negative and retrogressing thought pattern inhibiting my educational advancement, I embrace excellent and progressive thought patterns in Jesus’ name (Philippians 4:8)
  27. Spirit of the living God, come afresh on me and breathe on me to gain an understanding of all my subjects/courses and other academic assignments in the name of Jesus. (Job 32:8).
  28. Like Daniel, from today on, I receive exceptional qualities, which will distinguish me among my mates 9n the name of Jesus. (Daniel 6:3)
  29. Grant me divine direction regarding my education and career path. Lord, I commit myself to follow Your leading every step of the way in the name of Jesus. (Proverbs 3:5-6).
  30. O Lord, let Your favor characterize and sponsor my academic growth in the name of Jesus. (Luke 2:52).
  31. I stand against every distraction and lack of self-control that may hinder me from finishing well academically in Jesus’ name (Titus 2:6).
  32. I receive grace to make necessary kingdom additions that save me from ineffective and unproductive life both in my knowledge of Christ and in my academic pursuit in the name of Jesus. (2Peter 1:5-8).
  33. Help me, Lord, to stay true to my resolution not to defile my academic career with cheating and examination malpractices that appear juicy like the delicacies of the Babylonian royal food and wine in the name of Jesus.(Daniel1:8).
  34. Lord, I receive knowledge and understanding of all kinds of subjects and courses I am to take in Jesus’ name (Daniel 1:17).
  35. God, You are the one that generously gives wisdom without finding faults with those who ask of You. Today, I acknowledge my need for wisdom; grant me wisdom for exploitation in Jesus’ name (James 1:5).
  36. As Your child, Lord, I partake in my divine heritage in You and declare that “Counsel and sound judgment are mine. I have insight, I have power” in Jesus’ name (Psalms 8:14)
  37. Spirit of God, empower me for skillful handling of my academic tasks. Grant me the grace to stand before the people that matter in the name of Jesus. (Proverbs 22:29).
  38. God, empower me by Your Spirit, with all kinds of skills necessary for finishing well academically and send needed help to me in Jesus’ name (Exodus 31:1-6)
  39. Lord, I believe that Your divine power has given me everything I need for life and godliness, even in my academic career. I plunge into this provision now in Jesus’ name (2 Peter 1:3).
  40. Lord, as I commit my education to You and trust in You, let outstanding success be my shining reward in the name of Jesus.(Psalm 37:5-6).
  41. I refuse to be downcast by past failures and academic disappointments. Lord God, show forth Your all-surpassing power that will lift me out of my current challenges (2 Corinthians 4:7-9).
  42. Redeem me, O God, from my negative academic experiences and make me the pride and joy of all who know me in the name of Jesus. (Isaiah 60:15-16).
  43. I receive deliverance from every force oppressing my academic life and setting limitations on me. I break forth into a spacious space and triumph over the enemies of my success in Jesus’ name (Psalms 118:5-7).
  44. I move away from obscurity and I am brought into the limelight by divine orchestration in Jesus’ name (Matthew 5:14-16).
  45. It doesn’t matter how widespread failure is, I will not partake in it. The glory of the Lord will rise on me and I will shine for kings to come to the brightness of my dawn in Jesus’ name (Isaiah 60:1-3).
