The presence of God through Christ
Text: Matthew 1:18-23
There is nothing more soothing, thrilling, and exciting than knowing that there is a powerful having wandered into the darkest wilderness to be with you who can dispel all fears long period. This was the state of the Israelites before God chose to reveal HimseIftothem through Jesus Christ.
Our God is faithful and true to His words. He does not lie, and He does not fail. In His love for His creation, He sent His only Son, Jesus, to fulfill His words through Isaiah about the virgin’s immaculate conception of a son. When the angel assured John that Mary’s pregnancy was from the Holy Spirit; he asked him to take her as wife because she would give birth to a son; Jesus, who would save His
Believers in Jesus are assured today that God is with us. This truth is one assurance that matches every situation we can find ourselves in the knowledge and reality of His presence. Thus, as you go about today and every day, regardless of what may come your way, remember His presence is ever sure. He will never leave you or forsake you. Rejoice!
God’s Presence Will Go with You
Text: Exodus 33:12-23
There are so many uncertainties in the journey of life. Even the best of men have limited knowledge of what comes. Strategists and analysts have always attempted to use available information to predict a likely future. Still, they often make mistakes because of their human limits, as they do not know tomorrow.
In the journey to the Promised Land, God assured His people of His presence and rest. Moses, who knew the importance of presence, pleaded that God would not send Israel further if He would not go with them.
He explained that God’s presence would serve as an identity that the Israelites belonged to Him. It would signify that God was pleased with them and mark them out as different from other nations. God’s tangible presence is necessary for believers to make a positive difference in all their undertakings today. The last words of Jesus to His disciples recorded in the gospel of Matthew were, “Surely am with you always, to the very end of the age”(Matthew 28:20).
Lord,’ he said, “If have found favor in your eyes, then let our wickedness and our sin, and take us as your inheritance.”Lord go with us. Although this is a stiff-necked people, forgiveExodus 34:9, NIV
The Merciful God through God’s presence
Text: Exodus 34:1-9
Our God is indeed merciful. The Scriptures provide examples of many men and women who enjoyed God’smercy. The Israelites enjoyed God’s mercy in abundance despite their sins and failures. Though they often fell into the error of idol worship, once they repent, God would have mercy on them and forgive them. Even today, His mercy is sure upon everyone who believes and calls upon His name as His mercy endures forever.
In Exodus 32, Israel sinned against God by worshiping the golden calf, and Moses, in his anger, broke the tablets of stone bearing the writings of God. In Exodus 33, Moses pleaded to God for His presence as they continued their journey. Then, God assured Moses that His presence would go with them, and he would give them rest. How amazing! However, in Exodus 34, God showed a glimpse of His mercy when He invited Moses to chisel out two tablets in replacement of the first ones. God’s mercy prevailed over judgment as Moses prayed.
God does not reject the cry of mercy; He is merciful. His mercy is still available today for you and me if we ask. Have you made mistakes, fallen into sin, or made bad choices, and all the devil brings to your heart is how bad you have turned and how terrible the consequences are? Remember that God is merciful, and He loves you so much as to have sent his Son to die for you. Therefore, rise, shake off the dust, and accept God’s outstretched arm. Receive the impartation about the presence of God here.
Complete Joy in God’s Presence
Text: Psalm 16
Psalm 16 is a very personal psalm that focuses on the goodness of the Lord. David began by praying for safety and refuge, acknowledging that every good thing comes from God. He concluded the psalm by revealing the blessings and pleasures of God’s presence. In this present economy, some people may have found themselves in situations that could cause depression and oppression, but there is one thing that can keep
them going in their relationship with God. Your relationship with God is what keeps you joyful amidst sorrow and gives you peace when confusion abounds. There is nothing more precious than having an intimate relationship with God.
Though David had been through a lot, he did not lose the place of abiding in his presence. He revealed that no one could find pure and complete joy except in God’s presence.
The joy of the Lord makes the heart glad and gives the believer strength in adversities. Regardless of your experiences this year, do not let anything stop you from rejoicing. Satan and the world may offer bitterness to make matters more challenging, but our God offers joy unspeakable, full of His glory. Do not short-change yourself; enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praises, for there is joy and rejoicing in His presence.
Where Two or Three Are Gathered
Text: Matthew 18:15-20
Typical pictures framed often found in people’s homes or at the dining table have an inscription, “Christ is the head of this home, the unseen guest of every meal, the silent listener to every conversation.”Such a pictorial representation is a reminder of the presence of Jesus at the table and in every discussion.
Today’s text describes one of the many encounters of Jesus Christ with His disciples in which He discussed how to handle matters of relationship. He addressed the issues of reconciliation, forgiveness, discipline, prayer, agreement, and assurance of His presence. As AsHespoke, He talked about the approach to reconciliation among brethren and how in agreement, they can engage the throne of mercy through prayers, indeed, He assured them that His Father in heaven would do anything they ask.
How amazing! Jesus handed down a free pass to God’s presence to all who will seek the Father, and as though that promise was not enough, He revealed that beyond that present time, any and every time two or three people gather in His name, He is there with them! The presence of the Lord is real, assured, and tangible. Unfortunately, sometimes we get carried away by our agenda, schedules, and highlighted programs, forgetting the power, pleasures, and peace in His presence. Thus, each time we approach His throne totally before Him, we must seek Him heartily, remembering that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him(Hebrews 11:6

God’s Presence is with You Always
Text: Matthew 28:16-20
The last words parents speak to their children when embarking on a journey are very important. It always contains instructions and vital information. They would like to make sure that their children would be okay and that the house would run smoothly while they are away.
Today’s text is about Jesus’ final words of instruction to His disciples before He ascended into heaven. It is about their mission. They are the things He wants them to accomplish while He is away. And He assures the disciples that His last words are authorized by Himself. Jesus has the authority to give the mission. The mission includes going, making disciples, baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and teaching them everything that He commanded. Jesus also promised them his presence.
Believers today must remember that regardless of the storms, dangers, and troubles in our world, Jesus will not leave us at any time. As disciples, we must obey Jesus to make disciples. Then, our mission becomes Jesus’ mission; our vision becomes vision, and we accomplish exactly what He wants us to accomplish. He will also come alongside us through the Holy Spirit and equip us to serve. He is our present help. Just as the disciples felt reassured and fulfilled the Great Commission with fresh understanding, it is our turn too, remembering, that He will never leave or forsake us.
