The church should be available and ready for the new things the Lord is about to do as we journey on. The church needs to be available because the Lord will be using the church to achieve His purposes at a time like this. The Lord is counting on the readiness of the church, particularly youths for the next move; therefore, the leadership of God and the NEWNESS that He wishes to manifest in and through us.

The Message for All…..The passages before us today reveal the following TRUTHS if truly we shall experience newness;

1 . Newness through Redemption (Isaiah 43:1, 3)

The first step to experiencing newness in all ramifications is entering into a relationship with God through Christ. Sin separated man from God. Satan through sin puts man in eternal bondage and destruction. But God gave His Son, Jesus Christ to be sin for us so that we can become the righteousness of God. He was the sacrifice of God for man’s sins; it is this gift of God that opens the door of the grace of salvation to all who will believe and accept Christ as Saviour and Lord (2 Corinthians 5:21). Have you experienced this newness or are you ready to experience God in a new way? Come to Jesus and have a wonderful experience of a new relationship. Hear what the Lord told Jacob, “I have called you by your name; you are Mine!”Are you truly the Lord’s?

2. Newness through Victory (Isaiah 43:1, 5-6)

So many things keep man in bondage but the root of many of such bondages is FEAR. Man is kept in fear of many things but as the Lord wishes to do a new thing in you, He announces your victory over fear. He specifically declares, “Fear not, for I have redeemed you!” He whom the Lord has redeemed is a victor; whoever is born of God overcomes the world.” And this is the victory that has overcome the world, our faith. Apostle Paul in Hebrews 2:14-15 asserts that inasmuch the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He likewise shared in the same, that through death… power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage. Has the spirit of fear tied you down or are you in the bondage of all kinds of fear? Part of the new things the Lord wants to do this day is to set you free, just come to Him by faith.

3. Newness through His Presence (Isaiah 43:2)

The Lord declares, “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you”. Prophet Moses during the wilderness experience sought nothing but the presence of the Lord. The presence of the Lord gave total victory to the children of Israel. They possessed the Promised Land through the sufficiency of His presence. Hence, the presence of the Lord brings newness of faith, encounter and purpose. God told Jacob, “When you pass through the rivers, they shall not overflow you… I pray that the promises of the Lord for your life will come true this week, in the name of Jesus! Learn to covet His presence.

4. Newness in His Love (Isaiah 43:4)

The love of God is new every morning. As you walk daily in His presence, His love is renewed. Through His love for mankind, we have forgiveness of sin and restoration of our identity as children of God. His love makes us special, honoured and precious in His sight. In His love, your life is secure and your future certain. The love God has for man-made Him sacrifice His only Son on the cross. Above all, His love for humankind made Him go to prepare a place for us so that where He is we might be also (John 14: 1-3). As the Lord showered His love on us, He wants us to love one another; it is by this we know love. Just like He laid down His life for us, we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren (1 John 3:16). The love of God should be expressed in us and through us. This will enable the church and our various fellowships to experience newness as we live in love and unity.

5. Newness in Revealing His Glory (Isaiah 43:7, 10b,11)

We live in a generation that seeks the pleasure of ‘I and Self’. Jesus, while narrating the parable of the rich fool, gives the picture of the heart of man. The heart of man at all times seeks what will please self. In Luke 12:16-20, Jesus spoke a parable to the people, saying: The ground of a certain rich man yielded plentifully. And he thought within himself, saying, ‘What shall I do since I have no room to store my crops? So he said, I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build greater, and there I will store all my crops and my goods. And I will say to my soul, “Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take your ease; eat, drink, and be merry.”‘But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you; then whose will those things be which you have provided?’ To experience newness, the Lord is calling the Church to seek to glorify Him at all times. He is the only God. There is none before Him and there will be none equal to Him. Mankind was created for His glory and formed to do the same.

6. Newness in Being an Aroma of Christ (Isaiah 43:10,12)

What a great privilege to be a witness for the Lord. As ambassadors for Christ, we are called to represent Him in the world. As we walk in fellowship with the Lord, He reflects His glory in and through us. The Church is truly the aroma of Christ in the world. The more we reflect His glory, the more of Him we see, and experience and the more the world experiences the power of His newness. The Lord said, “You are my witnesses.” Are you truly representing Christ in your little corner and the opportunities given to you? Is the aroma of Christ coming forth through you? At this season of newness, be available to the Lord as an instrument of righteousness.

7. Newness through His Greatness (Isaiah 43:13-17,20)

God in verse thirteen says,“… I work, and who will reverse it?”Our Father is wonderful. He does whatever pleases Him and no one can question Him. As we walk and work with Him, He desires to demonstrate His greatness to the world through our lives. Little wonder He told the Prophet in verse twenty, “The beast of the field will honour Me, The jackals and the ostriches, because I give waters in the wilderness and rivers in the desert, to give drink to My people, My chosen”. My brethren, through the greatness of the Lord, there shall be divine provision and direction. Beyond your knowledge and understanding of God, there shall be a manifestation of His greatness for newness in your life, home and ministry.

8. Newness in Pressing Frontward (Isaiah 43:18-19)

Many children of God are tied down by previous experiences and achievements. But if the Lord will do a new thing, there is a need to forget the former things. There is a need for pressing on and frontward to achieve divine purpose. Are old habits, great achievements of the past, past regrets and disappointments hurting you?

Are you tied down by the guilt of your past sins and errors? Come to Jesus in this season of NEWNESS! The testimony of Apostle Paul in Philippians 3: 12-14 is clear, “Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” As you press on, focus on purpose, then, you will experience newness.

9. Newness in Singing His Praises (Isaiah 43:21)

The economic struggles, emotional torture, psychological trauma and many other life challenges are hindrances capable of distracting us from singing praises to the Lord. But there is a call to everyone who desires the newness of life to sing songs of praise to the Lord. The wall of Jericho fell by singing songs of praise to God(Joshua 6:20) and King Jehoshaphat won the four nations who stood against the people of God (2 Chronicles 20: 21-23). Do not be a grumbling child of God but rather, be a child with a heart of gratitude. As you expect newness in all areas of your life, appreciate the Lord and let your heart sing songs of praise to Him.

Are you ready to experience the newness of God? If yes, then, enter into the covenant of newness through His word and the power of His Spirit, as you yield daily to Him in obedience. Welcome to your year of NEWNESS!
