Group of People Raise Their Hands on Stadium

Praise and worship are lacking these days in the lives of Christians. We give prayer priority more than praising God and worshipping God. These devotional topics will re-orientate believers and Christians to know the importance of praises and worship. This is the 10th edition of the devotional. Other editions can be accessible here.

Day 1: God Is Worthy of Our Praise

 Read II Samuel 22:1-7(NIV).

Praise is a grateful sense of God’s work in and through the lives of His people. King David in today’s text responded to God’s miraculous work of rescuing him from King Saul and his other enemies by singing a well-deserved song of praise and thanksgiving to God appreciating Him for all He did and what He’s been to him(David). In his song, he called God his rock, fortress, deliverer, shield, the horn of His salvation, stronghold, refuge, and saviour. To crown it all in verse 4, he says God is worthy of His praise.

The question to you is, who is worthy of your praise ever since the year has begun? What names or adjectives would you also call or give to He that has kept you to date? Would you also do like David and write at least a five-line psalm of praise to God for what He has done so far in your life and family? God who saved and rescued David from all his enemies will also do so for you and lots more. Be determined that His praise will not cease from your mouth.

Prayer

I position myself to receive all that God has for me today in the name of Jesus.

Day 2: Christ Is Worthy of Our Praise

Read Revelation 5: 11-14.

Worthy/2x is the Lamb/3ce that was slain. Glory Hallelujah/3ce Praise

the Lord”The verses before us today connote that praise, which signifies an acknowledgement of God just an assignment to be done here on earth but also, the beloved, majesty in a sense of fellowshipwithHimin his vision of heaven saw the company of angels, with twenty-four elders together in heaven.

John the Beloved, in his vision of heaven, saw a company of angels, some creatures together with twenty-four elders around the throne singing praise in a loud voice to Jesus Christ, the Lamb that was slain. Christ was an is sacrificial received accolade because He willingly released Himself as a sacrificial lamb that opened the door of salvation for you and me. By His blood, we are qualified to receive all the benefits God has in stock for us without restriction. Is it not good that we give praise to Christ for this?

Have you given your life to the lamb that was slain for Him access to God’s benefits here and thereafter? Doing that is the prerequisite to benefit from God’s treasure.

Prayer

Father, give the heart of worship today in the name of Jesus.

Day 3: God Is Glorified by Our Praise

Read Psalm 22:22-25.

Whenever somebody who has been trusting God desperately and consistently for a particular need of life, of which several people have made jest of him or maybe they have even shown him quick way syndrome” but he refused and declared his standing on Received God response to his age-long request; God alone ismm0mlscsonifed, Such a person will be bold to tell people what God alone did for him and will like the Psalmist affirmed to people that God does not neglect the poor or ignore their sufferings. Before you know it, the whole congregation would have joined the testifier in praising the name of the Most High God whose hand alone can bring such benefit to His people without recompense. God most times manifests His glory again amid the congregation and pours more blessings to as many that believe in what He has done and trust God for the same. That He will do for you too in Jesus’ name.

Prayer

Lord, glorify me through praising you in the name of Jesus.

Day 4: Who Do You Offer You Praise to?

Read John 12:12-14.

In this contemporary world, several religious leaders placed themselves in the position of Jesus; some asked their followers to chant their names whenever they faced any difficulty or when they were to pray. This is an end-time syndrome and It’s against the bible (Philippians 2:10). The kind of honour and praise some give to their ministers whenever he’s invited to the podium such, that they cannot give to Jesus at the moment of worshipping Him. Why must we place mortal beings over the immortal? Please, I am not saying we should not accord due honour to God’s representative in our midst but my point is that we shouldn’t overdo it to the extent of placing them above God.

We can see the well-deserved praise and honour given to Jesus Christ at the onset of the work of our salvation from today’s text. The message is that whatever offering is too big to be rendered to God should not be spent on material things for us.

Prayer

Let everything covering my glory from shining be removed in the name of Jesus.

Day 5: Our Praise Is Acceptable through Christ

Read Hebrews 13:11-16.

God deserves our praise no matter the situation we are in. He always desires we make a joyful noise to Him, He wants us to come to His presence with praise and thanksgiving offering (Psalm 100) in our hands. However, He won’t just collect anyhow, from anyone. He desires quality offerings from those with pure hearts and clean hands(Psalm 24:3-4).

For you to always be qualified and be accepted in God’s presence, Jesus willingly offered Himself sacrificially and released His blood immeasurably to remove all barriers that wouldn’t make our life and offering of praise acceptable to God. Today’s text emphasized that only offerings offered to God through Christ will be accepted. Meaning that you must first be a member of the family by accepting Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour before your money, materials, song, and dance could be accepted. What is your position in Christ?

Prayer

It’s my season of refreshing; let hardship give way in the name of Jesus.

Day 6: Worship the Lord

Read Psalm 96: 6-9.

Worship is an act or expression of reverence and adoration for the most High God. Our God must be worshipped because of Glory and must surround Him; power and beauty fill His temple. As we worship Him, He will make our face radiant in and out with His glory and strengthen our weakened bones just as we read from the testimony shared in yesterday’s devotion. We need to affirm the praise of God in our worship by ascribing to honour due to His name. he can be done in any convenient posture; be it standing, kneeling, lying, bowing, sitting, etc. Just ensure that you are given it all to God.

Prayer

Almighty God, let my worship today give you honour in the name of Jesus.

Day 7: Tell the World of His Praise.

Read Psalm 96:10-13(NIV).

Making God’s deeds known to all nations can be easily passed from one generation to another in the form of songs. There is a unique power in songs either well composed or not, meaningful or meaningless that makes the listeners pick all the lyrics easily no matter how lengthy it may be. Satan is also using this channel to propagate the souls of men into his kingdom by feeding their minds with a series of meaningless songs packaged with terrible beats and horrible dance steps. It’s high time you that God has inspired you with the gift of composing meaningful songs with nice melodies, you can ask for the assistance of the choir ministers of your assembly in harmonizing the song and teaching the congregation. If the birds of the air and trees of the field can tell of the praise of God to the world around them, we superior creatures of the Almighty God would not be exempted. Cultivate the habit of using the gift God embedded in you to tell the world around you of God’s praise. Start doing that right now.

Prayer

I cover myself with the blood of Jesus; His blood shall avail me in all situations in the name of Jesus.

Day 8: Trusting God through Praise I

Read 2 Chronicles 20:1-5.

Whenever human beings experience a challenge or trouble that seems so big. Is God your Almighty? Do you put your trust in Him or you are seeking water in an empty cistern? You are admonished today to have absolute faith In God who can never fail but will surely prevail when your pathway is lonely.

Prayer

Oh my God, let my praise and worship today deliver me from my tough challenges in the name of Jesus.

Day 9: Trusting through Praise II

Read 2 Chronicles 20:15-19.

Our God is awesome; He is always mindful of His children. He will never abandon nor desert His own in times of trouble. Read Isaiah 49:15 says. Today’s test revealed God’s intention in the battle against the house of Judah. Why? They relied on God. God told them to keep calm for the battle is not theirs but His. He took over the fight from them and prevailed on their behalf. Oh! Our God is indeed the mighty man in battle. Jehoshaphat in our emphasis text Vs 18 and all house of Judah reverenced God who in His infinite mercy promised them victory. Note the word “promised”, if you were in their shoes, would you have reverenced God in advance or you would be waiting to see before you praise? May God grant you the heart of acknowledgement at every time and season of your life.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, let praising God give me a breakthrough and total deliverance in the name of Jesus.
